1st Annual Green Schools National Conference
Jayni Chase, founder in 1988 of the Center for Environmental Education, has long been an advocate for the health of future generations. In 1995, Scholastic published Chase’s book, Blueprint for a Green School, a compilation of more than 7,500 sources of environmental information, resources and ideas for schools--from food service to cleaning materials and curricular references to accurate environmental information. Currently Chase is launching a new initiative, GREEN Community Schools, in Chicago, Ill. The mission of this initiative is to create model green schools in cities across the country.
